PROFESSOR OLABISI LOTO
Loto Olabisi is a Professor of Obstetricand Gynaecology in the Faculty of Clinical Sciences, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. He has the Postgraduate Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College and West African College of Surgeons as well as a master’s degree in Medical Sociology. Acted as Head of department at various times and he is a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) as well as the European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE). Professor Loto has attended over 30 learned conferences spread around Africa, Asia, Europe and America. He has served as external examiner to several universities and is also an examiner for the National postgraduate medical college fellowship examination in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He currently has over 75 publications in high quality peer review journal published within and outside the country.
He gave the 305th inaugural lecture to a packed audience at the Oduduwa Hall in the University titled “Give me children…..Let me live: Combating the misery of infertility and preventing maternal mortality on the 11th of July 2017. The lecture was well received.
His current research is on assisted reproductive technology through which he has helped many infertile couples achieve their dreams of having their own children. Professor Loto is an astute clinician and an excellent teacher who is respected by his patients and students.
